Rails to Trails (Ohio) Ride, June 1

The bi-annual Rails to Trails ride is planned for Saturday, June 1. This is an approved LBC ride with ride and mileage credit, pursuant to club guidelines regarding member participation. The weather forecast for Tomorrow's TMD stage does not look promising. Chance of rain 70%. There is a major weather system skirting us just off to the west, but forecast to move over us tomorrow. Of course, they could be wrong; so, I will hold off on posting the go/no go decision until 6:30AM. Check the Ride Updates here for the final decision at that time.

Louisville Loop 50 Route Change

Construction on a 2-mile section of the Louisville Loop continues, so tomorrow’s Louisville Loop 50 will follow the route of the Saturday morning Slow & Easy 35 mile ride. Construction was supposed to be done by May 1^st, but according to The Louisville Loop webpage, the path will be closed for a couple more weeks.

Current conditions of light rain and wet roads, together with the high probability of rain continuing thru out the morning, indicate that this would not be an opportune time for "A Good First Century".

The weather forecast for tomorrow does not look good for the Good First Century. However, Richard and I will wait until tomorrow morning at about 6:30 am to make the final call. Information on the Kentucky Century Challenge and the Redbud Ride

Dear Century Challenge Participants,

The 2013 Redbud Ride and start of the Kentucky Century Challenge is almost here! Below is information you need to know regarding on site registration & post ride procedures so there is documentation of your participation in the challenge.

1. There will be a Kentucky Century Challenge (KCC) registration station available Friday evening and Saturday morning pre-ride for those that have not signed up via the website.

2. Upon completion of the Century Ride, all riders participating in the KCC must visit the KCC table.

3. At the KCC table, KCC volunteers will have a Check-In sheet where riders must initial that they completed the Redbud’s Century Ride, and have the KCC Volunteers initial this as well.

4. An odometer, or a riding partner should be able to verify the mileage the participant completed.

The same procedure will be in place for all of the remaining rides of the Kentucky Century Challenge. Without following this procedure, participants will not receive credit for completion of century for that ride, and therefore may not receive the Century Challenge Jersey.

Good luck to everyone and we hope to see everyone this weekend in beautiful London, Kentucky for the 2013 Redbud Ride.

Wayside Park Clean-up Cancelled

The Louisville Bicycle Club 10 AM, Saturday clean-up at Wayside Park is cancelled. The Papa John’s 10-Miler running race, will be run that morning and all the streets around the park will be closed for a good portion of the day. I apologize for the late notice, but the conflict was just pointed out today. We’ll try to reschedule a late afternoon/early evening weekday clean-up soon.
