Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Century Rides

Some notes on the upcoming three century rides this week:

Please note that the start time is 7:15 a.m. for Thursday and Friday and the normal 8:00 a.m. start time on Saturday. I put on earlier starting times in hopes that you might beat rush hour traffic on the return drive home assuming anyone comes to ride.

Please note there are/may be short stretches of gravel on these rides.  As always, there are dogs. Thursday and Friday rides start at Finley Firehouse in Scottsburg, IN.  Take 65 North to the Scottsburg exit, exit 29.  Go left (west) on State Road 56.  Finley Firehouse is approximately three miles away.  Go North on Finley and park behind the fire station being sure NOT to block the doors.  Please be aware that the part of I-65 that is 55 mph is heavily patrolled and essentially a speed trap.  The Saturday century, Bethlehem, starts at the Clark State Forestry.  65 North to the Henryville exit.  Go east off the exit to the 4 way stop and take a left (north) on State Road 31.  Forestry is on your left within a mile.

And no, the three century rides are not a joke as someone suggested.  I need the hours on the bike and intend to ride the Sunday century as well if I am still capable; I just will not captain that one.

Thursday's Century may NOT be the Story Century due to road closures outside of Story.  If I determine the road is actually closed, I will probably substitute the Christy Century or Orleans.  I thought about the Kurtz Century, but I am not sure that the lunch stop is still open. Same starting place and time: just a different route.  Please feel free to send me an e-mail if you have a preference.  The Christy Century is called the Vernon Century on though I have made a few minor changes.  Orleans is not exactly the same either as it will be shorter starting from Finley Firehouse than it was the year it was a stage.  I can send a cue sheet via e-mail if you would like one.
