Sunday, August 4, Update: Wises Landing Century Notes

03 Aug 2019 6:57 PM | Larry Preble

This is a wonderfully scenic but challenging century ride through Oldham, Trimble, Carroll and Henry Counties. However, you will best enjoy this ride if you are in good century riding shape. You should be capable of maintaining at least a 13 mph average through rolling and hilly country roads.

As always, potentially aggressive dogs may be encountered on rural roads--be prepared to deal with them.

A GPS with the route pre-programmed is recommended as there are lots of opportunities to miss a turn. You may download the route from my website here: http://kybikerides.org/ridemaps/6050.htm.

Special Note: There is a sign missing at mile 15. When you come to the fork there, bear left to stay on hwy 1488.

A full ride briefing will be available at the ride start. Looking forward to seeing you at the Buckner YMCA at 7:30AM.
