Join the Louisville Bicycle Club on Sunday, August 2, as we come together to remember and celebrate the life of David Wittry.
David served for many years as the Louisville Bicycle Club’s Vice President of Education and made a lasting impact on hundreds, if not thousands, of people throughout the cycling community. He supported nearly every aspect of cycling within the club and dedicated countless hours to helping riders become safer, stronger and more confident on their bikes.
David led the club’s New Rider and Bicycle Handling classes and volunteered at numerous local cycling events, including Bike to Beat Cancer, the PNC Tour de Lou, the Mayor’s Hike, Bike & Paddle and many others. His knowledge, generosity and passion for cycling made a difference to everyone who had the opportunity to ride with him, learn from him or volunteer alongside him.
We will meet at Noble Funk Brewing Company, located at 922 S. 2nd St., Louisville, KY 40203, with the memorial ride departing at 3:00 PM. The route will travel from Noble Funk to Iroquois Park before returning to the brewery.
Once everyone is back, we will gather for a brief remembrance of David around 4:30–5:00 PM, depending on when the ride returns. Afterward, everyone is invited to stay, enjoy a beverage and spend time together sharing stories, memories and plenty of laughs about David.
Whether you join us for the ride, the remembrance or both, we hope you will come celebrate someone who gave so much to the Louisville Bicycle Club and the local cycling community.
