Tour de Mad Dog Stage 9: Orleans the Back Door

Story Century was canceled due to road construction.  Instead this stage will be Orleans:  The Back Door.  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46449242  This version is modified from the original to keep us off SR 56 after the third store stop.  That takes away the two mile descent, but you will get to descend the sister hill, Leota Hill.  Use caution as there are turns and the remnants of cinders from winter.  
 
The first store stop is in Pekin, Indiana at Casey's.  Lunch is at Orleans and is late in the game.  About mile 58.  There are four options for lunch:  Speak Easy Pizza (normally fast and very filling), Dogwood Petal (Hamburgers, etc), a Mexican restaurant, and Lily's (hamburger/salad bar).  The route takes you to the Dogwood Petal, but I will have maps at the start for the other three and I personally will probably do the pizza option.  All lunch options are within a mile or less of each other and on the same road.  The third store stop is Casey's in Salem, Indiana.  

The GPS file shows gravel but there is no gravel on the route.  I will be driving or riding it between now and the day of the road to see if I have missed road construction,etc.  Indiana routes have been riddled with road construction the past few years so be sure to check.  If I have to select another option, it may start elsewhere. 
 
Ride start at Finley Firehouse.  From Louisville take I-65 North to the Scottsburg exit (29).  Go left (west) off the exit.  In 3 miles, turn right on Finley Firehouse Road and park behind the fire department being sure NOT to block the doors.  Spill over parking has never been needed but is available caddy corner to the Firehouse at the white abandoned building.

This is a free event as part of the Mad Dog ride series. Registration is not required, however it is encouraged.
