Ride and Event Info: 3 Steeples Ride is a scenic ride through rolling hills in beautiful Floyd Knobs, Indiana. There are rides for all ages and ability levels, from a 5.5-mile family fun ride to 26-mile and 50-mile rides for the more experienced riders.  We will have the same routes as last year and the wonderful SAGs with homemade desserts and fresh strawberries from local farmers with a lunch at 11:30.

All proceeds will benefit St. Mary's of the Knobs Ministries and School.

All rides will start and end at St. Mary of the Knobs and ride through lightly traveled country roads with SAG stops at St. Mary Navilleton and St. John's Starlight churches for the 26 and 50-mile routes.  This year we are adding a Fun Zone SAG to the 5.5-mile family ride which will have activities for the kids.

All participants who register before April 30th will be guaranteed a dri-fit technical T-shirt (men's, women's, and youth fit available). Registrations after that will receive a T-shirt only if extras are available.  This year's ride is a special ride since the 3 Steeples ride is celebrating its 10th year anniversary (2013-2023) and the shirts have a special notation of this.

Please come join us for a fun and friendly ride.  All participants are required to wear a helmet while riding.

    • Saturday, July 20, 2024

    • SMWC at US-150 and St. Marys Rd., Terre Haute, Indiana

    Register Here: https://www.rainride.org/

    Date: Saturday July 20th, 2024

Starting Location: SMWC at US-150 and St. Marys Rd., Terre Haute, Indiana

    Surface Type: Road

Event Details: RAIN is a one-day bicycle ride across Indiana. The 160-mile course runs mostly on the Historic National Road (US 40), an older, divided four-lane road with light traffic and gentle rolling hills. The ride begins on the campus of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) in West Terre Haute, Indiana, and crosses the state to Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. You should condition yourself for this ride, limit your time off the bike during the ride, and be able to maintain a rolling average at least 14 mph for 12 hours.

Ride Overview: Signage and roadway markings clearly mark the route. In addition to the signs, a painted raindrop on the pavement containing an “R” indicates a turn with the narrow “point” of the drop.

The 2023 RAIN route maps and cue sheets are found here. GPS route files are found here, where the route may be downloaded in a variety of bike computer GPS formats. There are several areas of road construction along the RAIN route this year, so please use caution when you ride through them.

Two construction areas require detours. Just before rest stop 3 at Franklin Township school, a portion of Edgewood Drive is closed to all traffic—see the map here for details on the detour. At Centerville a bridge is being repaired, and a detour from the normal route is required—see the map found here for details on the detour.

If you have a personal support vehicle (PSV) assisting you, it is your responsibility to ensure your support crew reads and follows the PSV Guide and drives only on the PSV route.

    • Norton Cancer Institute - Brownsboro - 4955 Norton Healthcare Blvd, Louisville, KY 40241
    Register

This is a charity ride that has a minimum fundraiser of $400.

Make sure you join our Louisville Bicycle Club Bike to Beat Cancer team HERE so we can show support for this great cause.

    Route Distance: 15, 35, 65 or 100 miles

Starting Location:  Norton Cancer Institute - Brownsboro - 4955 Norton Healthcare Blvd, Louisville, KY 40241

    Route Description:

Choose from 15, 35, 65 or 100 miles! We have an option to fit your activity level. To help you choose, think about it this way: A leisurely bike ride is about 10-15 miles per hour. Could you ride for one hour? Two hours? Three hours? More?

Keep in mind that relief is only 15 miles away. Our pit stops are spaced about 15 miles apart, where you can park, stretch your legs, use the restroom and get something to eat or drink.

Finally, remember you should enjoy yourself — but challenge yourself. You are doing this for those who cannot. You are taking on the challenge in solidarity with those who are fighting the biggest fight of their lives.

    Choose your distance

Never cycled before? We recommend the 5-mile or 15-mile option.

Cycled some, but it’s been a while? Try the 15- or 35-mile option. These are great distances for active beginners to novice riders.

Frequent cycler? The 65-mile ride is for you. This longer distance can be rewarding for people who cycle regularly or enjoy fitness.

Avid cyclist? Go for 100 miles and become a century rider! You won’t regret the feeling of accomplishment, knowing you are making a difference for children and adults fighting cancer in our community!

Registration Fee: 5-mile rider registration is $10. 15-, 35-, 65-, and 100-mile rider registration is $50. Cancer survivors ride for free. Click here for more details on the minimum fundraising requirements.
